1 Cor 1:2
Westgrove Gospel Chapel is a family of believers in Jesus Christ connecting people to His love, faith and hope.
Our gathering is based on New Testament principles and we meet together every Sunday to worship the Lord, have fellowship with Him and with one another and to teach the Word of God.
Our prayer is that you will be blessed and strengthened by the power of the Triune God, and that you will live a life of peace, joy and freedom in Christ Jesus.
A Gift Beyond Words
Eternal life is the ultimate answer to death. John 3:16 reveals that God’s love provided His Son so that believers would not perish. Though we are naturally disconnected from God, Jesus built a bridge; His sacrifice on the cross opened the door for anyone to return to Him.
Three Core Truths
The work of Jesus rests on three pillars:
A Real Connection
Saving faith is more than mental agreement; it is personal trust. It requires repentance, a "U-turn" from self-centered living toward God. As Romans 6:23 states: "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
A Troubled World
Conflict, sickness and death define our lives, yet the Bible explains this wasn't God’s design. Originally, humanity lived sinlessly in Eden’s peace. However, God warned that disobeying His command regarding one specific fruit tree would bring death.
The Failure and Human Condition
Tempted by Satan, Adam and Eve chose to distrust God and eat the fruit. This act introduced sin, shame, and toil into the world. Our nature changed from pure to fallen, a condition passed through every generation. Consequently, we struggle with selfishness and dishonesty; the world is troubled because the human heart is troubled.
The Remedy
Out of love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take our punishment. By dying on the cross and rising again, Jesus offers forgiveness. Saving faith is more than mental agreement; it is personal trust. It requires repentance, a "U-turn" from self-centered living toward God. When a person surrenders to God in faith, they are made new.
A New Nature and Goal
This inward change restores our relationship with God. He replaces unrest with love, joy, and peace, empowering us to forgive others and resist temptation. Ultimately, the Gospel reveals that while our failures caused the world's troubles, God provides the remedy for a godly, purposeful life.
The Cry of the Heart
The human heart longs for a peace that wealth and fame cannot provide. This restlessness is an eternal soul reaching for its Creator, finding that temporary things can never satisfy its deepest needs.
The Deception and the Source of Rest
Many seek relief in sin, which promises satisfaction but results in emptiness and judgment. Despite this rebellion, God offers grace through Jesus Christ. As the "Lamb of God," Jesus bore our sins on the cross and defeated death through His resurrection, inviting the weary to find true rest in Him.
Faith, Action, and Response
Salvation requires more than mental agreement; it demands a heart that obeys God’s will. Though sin separates us, God promises to cleanse anyone who returns to Him. Finding this peace requires a wholehearted response:
The New Life
When a person trusts Christ, the Holy Spirit provides a "new birth." This results in a new nature and direct fellowship with God. Christ dwells within the believer, finally satisfying the soul's hunger. In a world of confusion, true peace is found only by turning to Him today.
